Billing and seat-based pricing
Inklate has one plan, priced per seat — $12/seat/mo billed monthly, or $10/seat/mo ($120/seat/yr) billed annually — with a 14-day free trial.
Inklate has a single plan with everything included. It is priced per seat: your organization itself counts as one seat, and each team member you add counts as one more. Monthly billing is $12 per seat per month; annual billing is $10 per seat per month, charged once a year ($120 per seat per year, saving $24 per seat compared to monthly).
Plans belong to an organization, not to a user. Every member of a subscribed organization shares its features, and if you belong to several organizations, each one has its own plan.
What counts as a seat
Seats = 1 (the organization) + the number of team members. A solo organization is one seat; an organization with three teammates is four seats. When you check out, the plan picker shows the seat math explicitly — for example, 4 seats × $10 on annual billing is $480/yr.
Every seat includes the same features: scheduling for posts, stories, and reels; the social inbox; roles, permissions, and approvals; analytics and reports; the AI assistant (MCP) and full API; unlimited scheduled posts; and support.
The onboarding gate: trial or pay now
There is no free tier at signup. When you create your first organization, onboarding ends at a plan step with two ways in:
- Start the 14-day free trial. A card is required, but nothing is charged today. The first charge lands when the trial ends on day 14, and you can cancel any time before then and pay nothing.
- Skip the trial and pay now. You are charged immediately for the cadence you picked.
This gate applies only to your first organization. Only organization owners and admins can act on billing, so a regular member of a lapsed organization is never locked out at a paywall — they keep working and hit in-context limits instead.
Additional organizations
Once you have been through the gate, any additional organization you create runs free until it needs a paid feature:
- Post quota — a free organization can hold up to 5 posts. Creating a sixth requires upgrading that organization.
- Inviting teammates — a paid feature. Free organizations work solo.
When you hit one of these limits, the error tells you which one, and the upgrade dialog opens with the reason attached.
Managing and upgrading
Billing lives in Settings → Billing for the current organization. From there you can:
- See your current plan status — Pro, Pro · Trial (with the date of the first charge), or Inactive — and the renewal or cancellation date.
- Cancel or resume the plan in-app. Canceling takes effect at the end of the current period; after that, the organization loses access until it subscribes again.
- Open Payment method & invoices to update your card or download invoices.
- Refresh to re-sync plan state if a change you just made hasn’t shown up yet.
A free organization sees the plan picker inline on the same page. You can also upgrade from the Upgrade button in the app header, or from the upgrade dialog that opens when you hit a free-plan limit.
Payments are handled by Polar
Checkout, cards, and invoices are processed by Polar. Inklate never sees or stores your card details; it keeps only a local record of your subscription status, updated by Polar’s webhooks. Switching between monthly and annual billing happens through checkout and the billing portal.
